Nougat or nougat, is a name derived from the Constantinian language, meaning bread of nuts, and nougat is a dessert prepared from sugar and nuts, it is said that its original home is southern Europe, where it is very popular there, especially in the Christmas seasons. After that, it spread to most of the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, and became associated with occasions such as holidays, the month of Ramadan and occasions such as weddings. Nougat is used in the preparation of many sweets, such as chocolate, sesame, or any type of nuts. In this topic, we will show you various ways to prepare nougat at home, in simple steps.
2 cups sugar
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon ground cardamom
1 cup crushed hazelnuts
4 cups milk powder
1 tablespoon of oil
½ cup of starch
In a saucepan, mix sugar, water and lemon juice. Stir the mixture for 15 minutes, until you get a medium density syrup.
Remove the pot from the heat, add the soft cardamom, and leave it aside to cool.
Add the crushed nuts to the syrup and mix well, then add half the amount of powdered milk and mix well.
Add the remaining amount of milk to the drizzle, stirring constantly, until you get a soft dough.
In a rectangular tray lined with parchment paper and sprinkled with a little starch, pour the mixture and press it by hand until it is completely flat.
After the nougat has a little firm, cut it with a knife into equal pieces, leave it to cool, then serve.
